JLS fans urged to come to the Show

10th May 2010

The Devon County Show and Escot are getting together to offer a pair of tickets to pop band JLS’s sell-out concert this summer.

Fans can enter a free competition when they purchase Devon County Show tickets on line www.devoncountyshow.co.uk

The double Brit Award winners are appearing at Escot Park near Exeter on July 17 with a support line-up including Diversity, winners of Britain’s Got Talent, and Xfactor's pop diva Diana Vickers.

Show Secretary Ollie Allen said: “Lots of young people love coming to the Show and getting involved in life in the countryside. More and more are interested in where their food comes from and how the environment is shaped by farming.

“Nowadays Shows need to appeal to the younger end of the market and working with Escot on this kind of promotion demonstrates how we wish to reach young people and to involve them with the Show from a very early age.”

“But I’m sure lots of our younger visitors would love to see JLS in concert and I’m delighted to team-up with Escot to offer a pair tickets. Good luck!”

This year’s Show on May 20-22 at Westpoint, Exeter offers a packed day out with magnificent livestock, wonderful food and drink, inspiring flower and garden displays, marvellous crafts, stalls offering a wealth of goods, and lots of traditional entertainment in six rings.

The Show is also packed with a line-up of non-stop and traditional entertainment in six rings. From the fast and furious Amanda Saville and her thrilling ponies in their Chariots of Fire, to a Tennessee horse whisper, a team of performing dogs, scurry driving, axe racing, sheep racing, vintage tractors and steam engines, there is a great deal of enjoyment to be had.

New this year is FunForKidz, a huge feature bursting with hands-on activity for lively youngsters; everything from planting seeds to baking bread, colouring wellies, milking Daisy the cow with a difference, weaving willow wands, seeing chicks hatch, watching Tractor Ted DVDs and petting Crealy’s tame animals.

For the second year running children (aged 5-15) go free on Saturday, May 22, when accompanied by a paying adult. Adult tickets cost £15.00 in advance and the over 60s can get two tickets for just £12.50 when bought by May 14. www.devoncountyshow.co.uk
